My name is Joris and I am 22 years old. I live in Schijndel in The Netherlands and have graduated from MBO Application End Media Developer level 4 since 2022. Currently I am studying at Fontys Hogeschool in Eindhoven. Besides school I have also got a job at Apostle in Oss as junior developer.
Experience
Apostle is a company that has created an online tool that activates companies to expand their social reach. Within this tool you are able to plan posts on a variety of social media platforms.
Scherpenhuizen is a professional and dedicated family business in Brabant passionate about fresh fruit and vegetables. My function is to refactor all the current software they are using and bring it to a live portal for internal and external use.
Fungible Development was a startup blockchain development company started by me and two others. We would build anything blockchain related. After 6 months the crypto market crashed and there was no request for anything, so we decided to stop.
In the first part my internship was meant to be frontend only. I started of by learning React.js in combination with Next.js. I really had a hard time learning this, since I was only focussing on backend development. A few noticed and asked if I didn't want to join the backend team and eventually I did and I got to work in Laravel again.
A lot of my base coding knowledge has come from this internship. I have been an intern for 6 months and in this 6 months I have learnt to work with laravel and how to create a web portal with a pretty layout for the end user.
Own Projects
When finding out about the Spotify api I decided to create my own project around it. It's called Spotinsight, it gives some small details about your spotify activity. I also decided to create a small spotify player so you can play some songs.
As not being really familiar with frontend I decided to create my own admin theme in Laravel with Tailwindcss. Creating an account isn't necessary. just login with admin@admin.nl with password admin123!
With friends we decided to start a F1 tournament. We try to drive every week, therefore I decided to build a website to keep track of the scores in every season we do. I also build functionalities for driver stats etc.
